My Story
Kaoru Hugel Matsuyoshi
My wine journey started when I was a student in New Zealand. I just fell in love with the beauty of Sauvignon blanc, which naturally guided me to work in wine. Since then, wine has always been my passion and profession.
After a few years of working at a wine marchant in Tokyo, I started working at Mandarin Oriental hotel in Tokyo as a sommelière position. Responsible for a wide range of tasks as a sommelière, such as hotel wine selection, service at Michelin starred restaurants, and VIP customer service.
In 2013, I moved to France to start a new life with my husband who was a wine maker at Famille Hugel in Alsace. We travelled the world (over 30 countries) constantly to promote our wines, which brought us a beautiful connection with people who loves wine in the world.
Since 2017, I moved to Bordeaux to study MBA in wine marketing. After obtaining MBA, I worked as an Asia Area Manager at Château Brane-Cantenac in Margaux, conducting promotional activities to Asian countries.
Now I am a founder of Arôme Consulting that is a wine consulting company to become a bridge between wine producers and wine lovers. Arôme Consulting is also an official coordinator of PFV PRIZE JAPAN since 2021.
